Changes in Pakistan squad for Champions Trophy.
Pakistan , who have faced a series of defeats in the Champions Trophy , are facing severe criticism for their performance. In this context, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to make key changes in the team's coaching setup. The future of Aaqib Javed, who is currently the interim coach, has become uncertain. There are possibilities of appointing former cricketers like Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, and Misbah-ul-Haq as the new coach. In order for the team to return to winning ways, along with coaching changes, player selection is also being reconsidered. Pakistan, which lost to India by six wickets in the Champions Trophy, has failed miserably in other matches as well. In this context, the PCB intends to comprehensively rethink the team's coaching and player selection. Aaqib Javed took over as the interim limited-overs coach after Gary Kirsten resigned last year. Later, after the resignation of the Test team coach Jason Gillespie , Aaqib was also given that responsibility. However, in light of the latest results, there are chances that he and his support staff will be fired.

New coach
The PCB is yet to decide whether to appoint separate head coaches for the red-ball (Test) and white-ball (limited overs formats) teams or to hand over the responsibility to one. However, the names of several prominent former cricketers are under consideration for the coaching responsibilities. Former cricketers have been heavily critical of the Pakistan team's performance. The likes of Shoaib Akhtar, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, Salman Butt, Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis have pointed out the lack of proper strategy in the team and the lack of courage to handle pressure. They believe that there are flaws in the team's performance and the players have not been able to perform at important times. The PCB is facing challenges in appointing foreign coaches. For this reason, there is a possibility of appointing local former cricketers as the head coach to lead the Pakistan team. In particular, with players like Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Naseem Shah disappointing, there is a possibility that there will be a rethink on the selection of players along with the change of head coach.
It seems that the PCB is planning to appoint an experienced coach to bring the Pakistan team back to winning ways. In particular, the names of former players like Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Misbah-ul-Haq, and Younis Khan are being circulated for the post of head coach. In addition, it is reported that the PCB is planning to make some key changes in the team and give more opportunities to young cricketers. If the Pakistan team is to compete with the remaining strong teams and excel,Coaching, mental toughnessAnalysts believe that more attention needs to be paid to team equations.
